Basic Literacy Programme (BLP): We conduct BLP during the summer vacation (April-May) every year for the other children of the village. This is 1) to ensure that they are able to read and write English, Malayalam and able to do basic arithmetic skills of Mathematics, 2) to gift the children with a joyful vacation through various games and fun, 3) To select clever kids to the regular project of Coastal Brains.
30 kids from two fisherman villages (Adimalathura and Pulluvila) attended the programme.
Skill Development Programme (SDP): The existing students of Coastal Brains regular project attended the SDP. They enjoyed hands-on Science experiments and learned the game of Chess during this summer programme.

At the end of the Basic Literacy Programme this time, we had a winding up ceremony on 24th May. The parents and siblings of the BLP kids attended the ceremony and the kids performed so nice stage programmes.
Preliminary Test: On 25th May, we conducted a Preliminary test to select new kids to the regular project of Coastal Brains. 26 kids participated. After publishing the Test Results, we visited the houses of the kids to verify their family conditions. Finally we have selected 13 kids from them this time to the regular project of Coastal Brains.
June
Current Students of Coastal Brains: 24 school kids from Class 5 to Class 10. They attend our study centre regularly for their studies and co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and educational supports. 7 children are in Class 12 now.

Issuing School materials: We issued school materials to all the 31 school kids on 3rd June. The children are so happy and encouraged to start their new school year.
New Academic Year: Begins on 4th
June 2018 and ends on 31st March 2019.
